ICC WCF 8th World Chambers Congress in Doha, State of Qatar from 22–25 April 2013

ICC WCF 8th World Chambers Congress organized by ICC's World Chambers Federation and hosted by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce. More than 110 countries participated in the congress.

In addition to the ICC WCF 8th World Chambers Conference, exhibition also took place at Qatar National Conventional Centre.The Sultanate of Oman participated in the conference and it had the biggest pavilion in the exhibition that reached 432 sqm to showcase all its companies’ investment opportunities and possible projects.

The rate of visitors to the exhibition was low; However we benefited from the exhibitors from different countries, chambers, companies, and some investors from the conference, who were amazed with all the economic and strategic features of the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the special offers and services that Al Bashair is presenting .We also had B2B meeting with Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Expoonline from Qatar, and Rwanda Chamber of Commerce.

Delegates and exhibitors from Australia, Brazil, Italy, Finland, Syria and Qatar showed interest to visit Oman and meet with us in the near future for further discussionon starting a business or a project in the Sultanate of Oman through Al Bashair.

Muscat Street official re-opening

SINGAPORE now has a slice of Oman right in the heart of the city, as the new Muscat Street was unveiled on 8 Nov 2012 after being redeveloped to reflect the origin of its name.

Two 8m-high granite arches with ornate Omani carvings now frame the street in Kampong Glam, while granite murals and mosaic artwork line its sides. The street's face-lift, which began in October last year and was completed in July, was a joint initiative between Singapore and the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman Investment Forum

More than 200 businesspeople from Singapore attended The Oman Investment forum event was very successful and very popular. Many prestige companies and organizations presented various Investment opportunities in Oman in the various sectors such as Industry, Tourism, Finance, Services, and many more. The event was lead from the Omani side by H.E the Under-secratery of Industry and attended by companies and organisations such as: PAIPED, Al Bashair, Industrial Estates, Duqm Authority, Omran, Oman Oil (Takamul), Airports, Port authorities, Free Zones, Oman Arab Bank.

Representation Agreement with ST Logistics

After the round table meeting in Singapore on 18th April 2012, Al Bashair Investments LLC invited ST Logistics to visit Oman and explore business opportunities in the Health Logistics field in Oman. After few visits and meetings with the concerned officials in Ministry of Health and some Private companies, ST Logistics is convinced to set up a branch in Oman, and signed a representation rights with Al Bashair Investments LLC.

Round Table Meeting with Singapore Businessmen

To enhance the vision of inviting selected foreign investment to Oman, Al Bashair Investments LLC joined PAIPED in a round table discussion in Singapore with Thirty One Senior company representatives from Singapore from three targeted priority sectors Auto parts, Petrochemicals and logistics.

The program started with each company introduction of their background and their specific interest to Oman. the DG of Investment Promotion gave a presentation on investment environment in Oman and opportunities under the three sectors; Talked about Sohar, Duqm, and Salalah Free Zones, followed by a documentary about Al Duqm developments and finally the floor was open for question and answers.

The Singaporean Businesspeople were very interested in the discussion, the meeting was followed up by site visits to individual companies, and later on some visited Oman to take the opportunity further.

The meeting was organized by PAIPED representative in Singapore in collaboration with Singapore Business Federation, SBF. The meeting was well attended by Oman Consular, Deputy Consular,FromPAIPED:MrsNisreen Ahmed DGInvestments, Mr. Faris Al Farsi Acting DG Export, Mr. Mazin AL Siyabi,and from Al Bashair Investment LLCMr. Said Al Harthy GM Investment & Export.

Asia Food EXPO 17-20 April 2012 in Singapore

Southeast Asia's most important international food and hospitality tradeshow, Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) Singapore 17-20 April 2012, was attended by an Omani pavilion organized by PIPED. 4 companies from the food industry in Oman represented proudly the pavilion and participated in the Exhibition FHA.

Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) set a record in successful attendance; it was attended by 2,600 exhibitors from 60 countries, over 45 official country pavilions spread across 76,000m² exhibition space (In Singapore Expo) and 38,000 trade visitors from 100 countries to know the latest trends prevailing in the food and hospitality industry.

With a focus on promoting the Asian food and hospitality industry, FHA has grown tremendously along with the industry as the premier trade event synonymous with the food and hospitality industry in Asia and beyond.

Attendees not only could find it easier to meet their buying needs but also get to indulge in game-changing interaction with business contacts. They could also get the chance for effective networking and communication opportunities to grow their business.
